H.O.T.S. Questioning

a) What is H.O.T.S?

  • H.O.T.S. is a concept of education reform based on learning taxonomies ( such as Bloom Taxonomy ) . The idea is some types of learning that require more cognitive processing.


b) Questioning

- is the key aspects of teaching and learning process
- Question can draw students into the learning process easily

c) Principles of H.O.T.S.
- Specify clearly and exactly the important thing that going to be assessed
- Design tasks or test items that require students to demonstrate this skill
- Decide what you will take as evidence of the degree to which students have shown this knowledge or skill

d) Benefit of H.O.T.S.

- Information learned and processed through this skill is remembered longer and more clearly than lower order
- Student with deeper conceptual knowledge will be better able to access that information for use in new context

e) Learning taxonomies (Bloom taxonomy)

- It is a way of distinguishing the fundamental question within the education system
